Massachusetts Senate Seat election
I have watched Scott Brown's ads and they are not slick by any standard and his truck is a Government Motors truck so why is President Obama slamming his truck and making fun of his driving around the Commonwealth of Massachusetts? Nearest I can tell is that the Democrats are afraid of what is going to happen to former Senator Ted Kennedy's Senate seat. As Scott Brown said, "it is not Ted Kennedy's seat and it is not the Democrat's seat, it is the people's seat." So to the fine citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I urge you to vote for Scott Brown. Don't believe me that the ads are not slick. Click on either ad below and watch for yourself.
Here is another slick ad run by Brown.
Chicago politics has now entered Massachusetts. You figure it out but remember in November.

Leave it to those idiotic Democrats to lose a seat from the most Democratic district in the country that has been solidly Democratic since 1953 (five years before I was born!) Every time I forget why I left that joke of a party twelve years ago, they always cheerfully remind me.

Unfortunately Republicans have not been very inspirational at times but I think they are probably a better solution. I say "probably" because the last time they had a majority, they, too, screwed it up by failing to lead.
Thanks for your comments, Tom.
After watching the videos you posted and following the Mass. Senate race coverage in the media a couple of things come to mind.
Many in the media keep saying that Obama is a political genius....I don't see it. Maybe in years past a politician could get away with telling blatant falsehoods and presenting a bogus populist face, but today there are just too many different and easily accessible sources of information. Obama has always associated with people who he perceives to be social elites, and he's obviously in Wall Street's pocket. Carbon credit trading exchanges, health insurance trading exchanges, his answer to all the big problems is to create trading exchanges by force of law, forcing people to do business with Wall Street whether they want to or not. I laugh everytime Obama tries to pass himself off as a populist. He's heavy-handed and I don't think he's a genius, I think he's about 70 or 80 years out of place.
In recent years I've begun to question the wisdom of amending the Constitution to allow popular election of US Senators and this race is a perfect example why. No matter who wins, this race is about the actions of one political party and that's not what the Senate was supposed to be. I understand the political reality here, but I don't like it. Party is being placed above state and nation and the Senate was originally meant to avoid this sort of situation. Sorry for the long response but these are interesting times and I had a lot to say.
A populist, Obama is not in every sense of the word. He is a heavy-handed Chicago style politician who associates with an elitist society. He is obviously deeply in many pockets and I don't believe for one minute that someone is not pulling his strings. To come from a virtual unknown to the Presidency in a few short years, he has to be indebted to a major player, somewhere, somehow. Don't know when the truth will present itself but it won't be soon enough. Thanks for your comment, William.
